Finally I'm in school with quick internet! Sorry for so many posts in the same time! Hope you'll catch up!

Today we handed in the brochures "Giants of Typography" - I'll post some pics on that later. After that we got a new brief in Typography & Context, called "Letters in the environment". In class, we got a huge letter in black on an A2 paper, with a white background. The assignment is to photograph the letter in a creative way and turn the whole thing into a big real poster for a fictional exhibition, where we have already got all the copy that needs to be on the poster, from the teachers. The project is due in a couple of weeks, and the poster is to contain only two colors, for example duo tones. In two weeks we will bring in the three best ones each, for feedback on the "wall of death". We're in groups of three and every group gets a different letter. We got "O". Fun project!

Kolibri Design Studio

I am finally finished!!!! WOW, this has been a wonderful project to work on, and I think I've spent around 40 hours on it. The thing is that I was so engaged in this project so that I came up with ideas that was a bit tricky to produce, which is typical me, but in these situations I am very very stubborn and wants to do it exactly as I see it in my head. For example, when it came to the production part, it got to me that producing a business card containing both organic paper and plastic, with a different shape and wholes in it, would be around 3000 kr. Oj. Therefore I needed to re-think, and I decided to find a way of producing the thing by myself instead. This included a LOT of measuring, and tricky work. For example, I couldn't find any plastic that matched with the one in my logo, so it ended up with me buying 5 writing pads with this blue plastic as a cover, and cut everything out, also for the business card. I have never been so motivated for a work before. 

I miss my folder, which is now with the teachers for two weeks more, so I am looking forward to photograph it outside somewhere. I am also looking forward to put together my website folio for a better display of my work than just on my blog.

Yesterday we got the third and last brief in this course, an assignment to be due in 5 weeks, were we will hold a presentation in front of the class, about our brand, and our process with for example photos of our brainstorming notebook pages, combined with a fictional event to go with our brand, with invitation, and maybe a gift box. Also, a CD with the presentation together with a follower, written document of our "speech" need to be submitted in a way that go with our brand. I already have a lot of ideas for all this, and we can even use Flash to produce a little film to be shown in the presentation. The presentation is going to be 8 minutes long. 

During production week I will sketch on a storyboard for my presentation.

This is my brand folder, containing all the required elements, such as business card, letter form with a follower and a lot of different pages which is representing a presentation to a client, including for example my brand website, my logo in black and white, CMYK and Pantone versions and my brand pattern together with some more things. Also, the measurements is extremely important for our assignments. If you miss out on something required in the brief, you fail the whole assessment.

To make my brand folio a bit more personal, I included a little brown paper bag hanging on the outside of the folio, containing small paper flowers and a sense of my perfume, Ralph.

The business card have a cut in it, to b able to put it on other places than in your wallet, for my brand to be remembered and displayed.

Photoless

I have so many photos and now the internet is too slow so I can't upload. We're still looking for a way to get better internet here, but tomorrow I'll stay in school and post from there. Today I have mostly recovered and I feel a lot better now. Except one printing mistake more I have mostly rested.

Tomorrow is the day of handing in the Giants of Typography booklet which I unfortunately can't show you either. After that I'll probably stay in school for a while with my Sevgi Hotel group before I take a run in the park and continue with my other assignments. Unfortunately this production week won't be as empty as I first had hoped for, but I think I'll manage anyway.
